How to get rid of acne

how to get rid of acne

Acne affects almost 80% of adolescents, and one out of five adults. These blotchy, red and sometimes painful zits can be damaging to self-esteem and lead to heavy scarring. Many look to expensive treatments to regain the pure, immaculate skin the arrival of pimples can ruin. However, there is evidence that the home tips and remedies may be the best way to get rid of pimples fast.

Toothpaste

Pimples are usually caused by excess sebum. Applying toothpaste to the affected area before bed will dry up the pimple, reduce its swelling and the inflammation of the surrounding cells. In the morning, you will notice obvious improvement that may be even greater should you follow up with a lemon and sugar scrub.

Ice

A lack of circulation to an area of your face can lead to the sprouting of pimples and blemishes. Pressing ice against the problematic area will not only reduce the redness of the pimple, it will also improve your bloodflow to the area and tighten your skin pores. This will allow you to remove the dirt and excess oil in the skin, which may help deflate the pimple over night.

For easy application, crush the ice and wrap it in a thin towel (prefarably of pure cotton). Press the ball of the towel against the area. Hold it in place for 90 seconds. Repeat 3-4 times.

Lemon & Cinnamon

While this method is very effective, it is not advisable for those with sensitive skin. Pure lemon juice (stay clear of the bottled kind) will help your pimples dry up and will balance out your skin-tone by getting rid of impurities caught in your pores and accumulating dead cells.

To apply, mix lemon juice and cinnamon powder into a watery paste. Wash your face with lukewarm water. Apply the watery paste to the affected area. Leave it to dry over night.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a pimple treatment that acts relatively fast on whiteheads and redheads. The most effective way of using this method is to mix a few drops of tea tree oil and aloe vera gel. Apply the gel to the affected area. Let it dry up for about 20 minutes and rinse off.

Garlic

As an incredible antiseptic, garlic consumption or rubbing on affected areas of skin can help purify your blood or skin. With its natural antioxidant qualities, garlic will get rid of stubborn pimples within a few hours. Simply cut the garlic in half and rub its flat surface on your pimple. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

For maximum efficiency, repeat 2-3 times a day.
